Macao : First H1N1 death in two years

An article from Macao Daily Times, excerpt :

" The 47-year-old woman who was hospitalised a month ago with Influenza A (H1N1) died yesterday morning at the Kiang Wu hospital, the Health Bureau (SSM) announced. It’s the first death caused by the so-called “swine flu” in Macau since October 2009.

According to a press release, the woman stopped breathing and despite attempts to revive her, was pronounced dead at around 9 am.

The deceased was hospitalised on January 18, suffering serious pneumonia. As she was transferred to Kiang Wu’s intensive care unit, tests detected the H1N1 virus. The doctors used an artificial lung to help the patient breathe and her condition initially improved."
