Hong Kong : HFMD and EV71 situation update

Press Release from Hong Kong's Department of Health :

" A spokesman for the Department of Health said reports about 14 hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were received during the 24 hours ending at noon today (June 22).

No new report of enterovirus 71 infection was received during the period.

This brings to 450 the cumulative total number of HFMD institutional outbreaks in 2010.

The new school and institutional outbreaks were in Central and Western, Eastern District, Wan Chai, Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, Wong Tai Sin, Kwai Tsing, Sha Tin and Tai Po.

Two schools are closed due to HFMD outbreaks.
